Moonshine EP (music review)

Moonshine Music Crew

Moonshine’s release of their very first EP has been a success upon their own standards of promotion and marketing. Their mission statement is “to create synergy through unity, and progress as individuals through various expressions of art and business.” This compilation of each individual artists’ (Dash, Eye-Que, Willdy Diamond, Inclined, Tybox) favorite piece from their solo projects collaborate to create this signature EP, along with original group arrangements.

Established in 2009 in Northern California, Moonshine Cooperative was formed by the likes of Dash Weidhofer, who serves as a producer and vocalist throughout the course of the released EP. They are a privately owned music company (like Pearland). It is evident to see that the members of Moonshine all share a love for hip hop, while at the same time hoping to add their own personal flare to the underground hip hop scene. This EP can be seen as their introduction into the world of underground hip-hop – from northern California to the remainder of the country. To me, the most notable track on the EP would be “Hip-Hop Holiday” because of the group’s hip-hop touch on a holiday-themed song. As perceived, this EP gives listeners a gist of what each individual member of Moonshine Cooperative has in store from a lyrical basis to a the quality production. This EP is recommended for hip-hop heads looking for something new, while acquiring hip-hop characteristics. This is real hip-hop. This shows that underground hip-hop ain’t dead and that some of the most talented cats in the country need to be recognized. This EP is an example of hard work, skill and most definitely, a love for hip hop.
